Yingchen Yang received his Ph.D in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University in May 2005. His dissertation topic was on flow-acoustic coupling in cavity flows. Right before his Ph.D program, he worked in the Fluids Lab at Lehigh as a visiting scientist for three years, conducting research on wave interaction with offshore structures.
He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the MNTR (MASS) group at the University of Illinois, involving the development of bioinspired haircell receptive sensors. His research focuses are on flow-structure (sensor) interaction for optimization of sensor design and hydrodynamic trail tracking via application of sensor arrays.
