Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM)

SPM are useful for not only imaging, but also for nano lithography and fabrication.  We are building SPM probes for dip pen nanolithography (DPN), a technique invented by our collaborator, Prof. Mirkin at Northwestern University.  The DPN technology can produce nanoscale features directly using bio- and inorganic materials.
